Heating Oil - How long should it last

    Hey,

Approx 2 months ago I bought 600 liters of oil. For the month of Feb I had it on 9 hours per day (was drying out my house) and then from the second week of march on was down to 3 hours per day.

I had to get more oil two dayscsgo because I was near empty again.

So I'm wondering if this was normal for the amount of good it was on. Also for anyone with an airtight house they also has oil, how do you operate yours? Do you leave it on 24x7 or just when you need it.

    Thanks.

Yes that is about right for the amount of hours you had it on.If your oil tank is new then there will be still 50 litres plus approx left in your tank.Very very few people leave their oil boiler on 24/7.Most people only turn the boiler when there is heat required

Total Hours X 2ltr is a rough calculation.

Whatever about burning oil drying out a house at that rate is a bad idea.
