I just switched on the telly and there was a UK kitchen makeover programme that was on.
The designer used a granite overlay and fitted it on top of the old worktop..the overlay was approx an inch or so thick..
    I was amazed!
Anyone know where I could get something like this in Ireland? (Galway preferably?!)
    Thanks

I've never seen it, but 25mm stone worktops are all the rage now.

I can't see there being any difference cost wise between an overlay and full worktop of the same thickness. Also, even between 25mm and say 40mm there would only be a small increase - as the fixed costs are still identical.
