    Hi all, is HDPE suitable for turning pen blanks. I've been making wheel rim protectors out of it and was wondering is it suitable for turning pens etc.
    Its quite easy to mould so would be easy to make into blocks. Nephew is the wood turner and he thinks it should work but I thought I'd ask here.

    Edit. I use HDPE code 2, the harder stuff as opposed to code 4, the slightly softer stuff although opinions on both are very welcome.

    Yes can be used no problem. I've loads cut up from funky coloured shampoo bottles just for that and mirrors.
