    This is on an old cast iron sign and I wondered what it meant please. Can you help please?

    The 'SE' in the middle is likely to be Saorstat Eireann. For 'OP' I'll go for Oifig an Phoist.

    Would agree with Saorstat Eireann, often seen on postboxes but never saw the 'S' and the 'E' intertwined like this.

    If it's Oifig an Phoist, must be very early, after the Royal Mail packed up but before the establishment of the Dept. of Posts & Telegraphs.
