Let's see if there is any interest in a VOAT for April.

What is VOAT?

VOAT stands for Variations On A Theme. A short story competition (with no prize except the respect of your peers) that runs here from time to time. A theme, story outline, or opening line, is given for everyone to write about in their own style or with their own spin on the story. There is typically a word limit (1500 or 2000 words, maximum). There is a time limit (usually 5-7 days from the theme announcement). The stories are sent to one designated person. The stories are posted anonymously by that person in a new thread and everyone can vote for their favourites.

Let's set the writing window from Thursday evening (13th) to Sunday 23rd at midnight.

If you're interested, post below! We'll come up with a theme before tomorrow.

Word Count: Up to 2,000

I'm a bit busy on the first draft of a novel, hoping to finish the last 8k words this month, but I'll happily take a shot at a flash fiction.

Wow was just about to ask for an extension....works for me. Unfortuantely one of my colleagues left work and I have inherited some of his projects on top of my own...fun times! You might say I'm feeling a little...........lost........Boom Boom

Really sorry to let you all down but I won't have a story in this time. Head is absolutely melted with work.

Same with me, FT. I had planned to write something yesterday, but I was out until 2am the night before at a friend's birthday party.

3 stories were submitted this month and they have been posted in a separate thread.
