1.4 2005 ford focus confused clusters fast flashing light

    My gfs car is acting up the clusters getting really confused like it shows up nearly every dash light then the red immobilizer light flashes fast and car won't even attempt to start but if I push the car it will start but the red immobilizer light will continue flashing and car losses a lot of power but somthimes it will run fine for an hour or so ? Also turning the alarm on then of 3 or 4 times it will somtimes start anybody any ideas what could be the problem ? Thanks

    I had a similar issue with my 2006 Focus a couple of years ago, turned out to be an issue with the alternator.

    Really a friend told me to cheak the alternator a while ago but I never did what was happening yours was it overcharging ? Thanks for reply bud :-)

    Focus mk2(2005+) have two common weaknesses

    - Cluster failure that can lead to funny behaviour
    In my case, random dash lights and intermittent starting issues

    - premature alternator failures
    In my case, alternator stopped charging and I lost electrics when battery died.

    Both are fixable by auto electrician.

    Check the plugs on the fuse box above the passenger footwell.

    Sometimes they can get a kick and knock them out of place.

    I think im going to get it plugged in to dynostics to try find issue that should fined the fault shouldnt it.......thanks

    Iv already cheaked most of the fuses and looked at ford manual to find out where the main fuses where they seem ok but thanks for reply chap
