Another parking fine thread

Folks just got a letter in the post today, it's a reminder for a parking fine several weeks back.
I never got any notice fixed to the car. (they claim it was attached - no evidence yet)
I haven't received any other mails about this - this is the first I heard of it.
Yet the fine is already late and I owe an extra 20 euro.

What recourse do I have as regards the 20 euro additional, I'm "happy" to pay the initial 40, mea culpa. As far as I'm concerned the clock starts now on late payment, only 40 euro is due.

I'm going to start an appeals process with the South Dublin parking crew.
Is there any point in contacting my solicitor, I'd really like to avoid paying for some else's sloppy work, even if it costs me money to do so.

    You've answered your own question.

Pay the fine or go legal and risk losing and being out legal fees. It's that simple

For 20 quid, going legal is just silly unless you've a slam dunk case. Pay and move on

How much was the original fine, and would you have paid it if you found the ticket on your windscreen?

As long as cars are not fitted with mail boxes wardens will have to affix notices under the wipers, then any person can walk past and remove it.
That said, just pay it and don't get another fine ;)

How hard is it for the Warden to take a pic of the fine on the windscreen, showing the licence plate?

Some do, but I don't know if it standard procedure.

Were you actually parked somewhere that you would have received the fine?

Dunno man, it just sticks in my craw that they think they can just have people over a barrel.
20 quid either way is not going to kill me, nor would a small legal fee.
I know which one would give me more satisfaction.

True enough, I understand that, but what is my legal recourse having obviously never received the notice. The company seems to have all the legal rights?

Yes some take a picture as it seems there can be an issue with stuff legal documents going missing willy nilly.
