    Hi
My old 00 Corolla vvti failed the NCT recently and I'm wondering what parts I would need to order ? I'm not sure what they mean by rack and pinion/steering linkage? Also "Repeat side slip test"?

The bottom section of the NCT report is attached

If anyone could help me out it would be appreciated. My cousin who is a mechanic will be fitting the parts for me. I can PM my Reg if someone feels like looking on Micks garage for me to see what bits n bobs I need. :o

    Thanks!

At a guess it's the passenger side track rod end. Bringing a car for Nct with a light out, manky wiper blades and a tyre worn out is asking for trouble. Your friend should see what's worn easily enough when it's jacked up.

Looks like it's the actual steering rack that's worn.

Nah, they always put rack and pinion on the sheet and I'd be very surprised if the rack was very worn on a Corolla, then again if the op couldn't be bothered putting in a dip bulb, anything is possible.
