    Hello all..a neighbour called around to inform us she was removing some lleyandii bushes..about 10 foot tall.between our properties..no probs with me as they are a bit of an eye sore..i just trying to find out if she can as several bird species nest in them..in a domestic situation like this is she restrained by legal issues relating to nesting season?

    The short answer is she can take them down. Anything she replaces them with will be better for wildlife anyway.

    Would probably fall fowl of the hedge cutting laws, so she can't legally remove them until October (I think). Not that that actually stops anyone.

    Edit: Nevermind, apparently I'm wrong.

    i took down 70 foot of leylandii hedges a few years ago and found a single (old) nest in the entire bunch. you've been doing well to get multiple nests in them.
