NCT question

    Hi i bought a car that is out of nct over 12 months am i am getting it ready for nct . It got a manufacture recall to be done on it i also need to get head lights focused . Can i get these jobs done on it with only insurance & get them done on different days with out been done for no nct.

    You need a valid NCT, I would say the car will be seized if your stopped and it's 12 months over due. If it was only a few weeks and you had evidence of test booked it might be worth the risk.

    Book the NCT now, you can book it 4 weeks time which gives you plenty of time to get the other jobs done. The Gardai can check when you took ownership and so long as you have the rest booked you should be ok to drive it after all how are you supposed to get it to the garages to get the jobs done that are needed for the NCT.

    Thanks I just want to get jobs done before test date as I want the engine well heated up for emmisions on test date.
