    Hello all,

I was in a small accident on Saturday and I need to get some damage quoted for on my 2007 saab 9-5.
I will be going through my insurance.
As there are no Saab Dealerships anymore, where is the best place to bring it?
I think it will be a new bonnet, headlamp and bumper :o

    TIA
    Jim

You don't need to bring it to a Saab dealer to be repaired even if they still existed. Get a few quotes from recommended body repair shops who will include the cost of sourcing parts where needed. But on a car of that age your insurance company may not want to repair it and instead decide to write it off from an economical point.

If you decided not to go through your insurance then the alternative would be to source second parts yourself from a scrapped car in a breakers yard and have a local body shop fit them and paint them to match your car's colour.

Having personally used SAAB service in Bundoran, Donegal (he has an ad in adverts.ie) I would recommend them for used parts and possibly for work too. They might even be able to source the parts in right colour. All of the above in 9-5 simply bolts on if there is no underlying damage for the inner wing and chassis legs.

I have no affiliation, just a happy customer. PM for a phone number.

    Sorry, north Dublin.

Would a ford/ Nissan main dealer do this work??

You need someone that does auto repairs.

They will only be linked to a manufacturer if they're operating out of one of the main dealers..

Otherwise they will be independent and the independent guys tend to be a bit cheaper.

In short, forget about the manufacturers and just find a decent crash repair specialist..

As above, if budget is a concern, start calling breakers and source the parts yourself..

Main dealers will cost more and will probably outsource bodywork repairs to a third party anyway.

    Thanks.

I'm going through insurance so I just want a good job, I'm not worried about making it cheap.

    Fair enough..

You might not be worried about the cost but on a 07 car the insurance company will..

Either way, It's a good crash repair specialist that you need..

Good luck and hope you get sorted..

I would definitely try to get the used parts in right colour as they would match the age/finish of the car better than the new parts.

I've used these guys in the past and found them very good. They're based in Swords.
