GTX runners for road running?

    Hi guys,

My usual road running shoes are out of stock but the GTX version is available. A waterproof Gore-Texâ„¢ upper seems to be the only difference in the description. I'm never owned a shoe like this before so not exactly sure what it means. Would it make the shoe heavier? Would it be a bad idea to use this type of shoe for road running in Ireland during the summer?

    Thanks,
    Jimmy

My only experience is of gtx kinvaras and they were pretty much the same as regular kinvaras, if that's any help to you.
