Herd-owner / Breeder

Hi I am wanting to start breeding sheep. I have been told if I fill in an ER1.1 form I would be named as herd-owner and my partner would be keeper as he already has a flock number. The woman in the district office said my name wouldn't be on dispatch dockets etc. My question is if I was breeding sheep as a herd-owner would my name be acknowledged as the breeder or would it be my partner.

Sorry for the long post just would like to know what's what as the Department transfer me from person to person and the last person wasn't helpful at all.

I think what happens if you fill ER1.1 is you are added to the herd as a herd owner. There can be more than one herd owner and you can even have a legal entity such as a limited company named as a herd owner.

However there is only one keeper allowed per herd number and this has to be a person. This I think is so that the keeper can be held responsible for the care of the animals.

In your situation it seems that it's the keepers name that appears on dispatch dockets etc. I'm not sure how that works though as if it was a company owned the stock and they sold them in the mart would the cheque go to the company or to the nominated keeper.
I'm guessing this is your concern or is it to be acknowledged for shows and the like.

Would I be acknowledged at the shows, as I am the person who would be breeding them?
