Hey lads, the tv in my mothers sitting room has been acting up for a while with RTE 2, tv3 and tg4 receiving blocky images and broken sound. Now they've disappeared completely without effecting any of the other TVs in the house. Any advice on what might be wrong?

Could be as simple as a dodgy plug on the end of the aerial cable. Has anything like this been checked?

    Is RTE1 still working?

If all TV's are using the same aerial I'd suggest a loose connection at back of TV or where the cable connected to the aerial/splitter.

RTÉ 1. 3e, RTÉ jr and rte news now are working fine. There was a loose bit on the cable going into the socket on the walk but I tightened that up.

    You mean be3, not 3e?

Anyhow, I'd still have the cable from the wall, its connections, or maybe the socket & its innards as my suspect weak links for now, & I'd want to be sure these are performing correctly before moving on to anything else.
