Anyone know any Rough Collie Breeders with a litter?

Hey, my family has been looking to get a new Rough Collie, and I've made the rounds of breeders, but none seem to have any recent or expected litters. I contacted about 8, but I'm sure there's plenty more I don't know about or can't find on the internet. So if anyone has any info that'd be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

I know it might not be the moral thing to do, but my family wants a puppy to grow up with them, if you know what I mean

Rather you than me! Puppies are great but tbh the broken sleep, the biting, not being able to leaving the house for more than an hour or so....

I love the idea of a puppy, it might be a retirement present to myself but now, with job and life adult dogs are so much easier.

The cute factor only lasts for so long and then they are an adult dog anyway!

absolutely. just a thought... good luck in your search, just make sure its a reputable breeder, and that you see the parents (both if possible). A collie is a tricky thing - timid to the point of chronic all the way to mad as a hatter - so a nice environment to be bred into is pretty important, and seeing the attitude/personality of the parent(s) critical.

Thanks. We've had a collie before, unfortunately she died last year, but we're ready for another now, because she was the best dog ever. I've actually now just got confirmation of a reputable breeder who has two litters on the way, so it's looking good.

It is very unusual for a reputable breeder to have two litters on the way at the same time, please make sure that they are, just registering the pups with the IKC doesn't make them reputable. Rough collies can be very nervous, so their socialisation programme is really important.

Iv'e not been to the place where they are, but I was referred from someone who is big in the IKC and showing. I'll be getting pictures and will visit before being fully committed though.

The pounds are full of collies of all ages. Our fella was 14 months when we got him. PLEASE reconsider and go the pound route.

A note to all, this is not a rescue forum. The OP has made it quite clear they want to purchase a puppy from a breeder. Pushing a rescue agenda where it is not wanted is not tolerated here.

For the record I have never heard of a rough collie in a pound or rescue never mind being 'full' of them.

Collie crosses & Border types, certainly not Rough Collies, Rough's have much different temperaments then your typical Irish collie mix.

Thanks for the offer, I've just received some pictures of the parents now, and they certainly look healthy and happy (and gorgeous), I know that's not case closed, but I'd be extremely surprised if there was any sketchy stuff going on with the breeder at this point.
I'm not sure if they have a website, and I don't want to go and give peoples personal info out without their consent, but I've done a quick search of them and they seem rather involved with All Ireland Collie & Sheepdog Society.

No bother. Just be aware that some breeders use pictures that are not their own dogs.
