My vet just put ours on the dry low fat food, he sold us a tin or two of the other but recommended we get it off it as soon as possible as it was so expensive, and it was only in case she didn't eat the dry.

DO NOT feed most of the higher-end dog foods. Go into a pet shop, look at the expensive or recommended stuff, you'll often see 16 per cent fat.

http://www.redmills.ie/Pets/Products/Engage/Engage-Beef This is 8 per cent, not far off the 7 per cent. You could work out a list of the low-fat dog foods and ask the vet about it. Mine was very happy to tell us to go get a list of foods that we could ask about.
