It is rather sad to see Antrim hurlers playing provincial hurling in April (though their recent League promotion suggests a revival), but so things will continue until they win the Christy Ring. Anyway:

    Antrim 3-24
    Donegal 1-10

In the other semi, Armagh defeated Down by 1-17 to 2-12, and will once more attempt to win their first title. Surprising to see Derry in the Shield, presumably Slaughtneil wanted a well-earned break!

I see they won the Ulster final by 20 something points there at the weekend.

But even the years that Antrim were in the Leinster round robin thing, did they not always play an Ulster Championship at some stage too? Usually later in the summer after the likes of Derry & Down were gone too from the Christy Ring etc? I'm almost sure i've seen Antrim embarrassingly lift an Ulster SHC trophy in late June/July?

Yes they did. Until recently they got a by into the final at all levels!!

I think having the Ulster championship at this time of year is a good thing as all the teams, this year anyway, are playing in the Christy Ring etc so playing games is going to be much better than training.

On another note is good to see Cavan are fielding a hurling team again
