I came across this http://morethanjustsurviving.com/stitches-bandages-or-super-glue/ article when I was searching for something else. Anyway I got a nice gash on the topside of my thumb this morning, and couldn't find the band aids so I thought feck it I'll give the superglue a try and I can safely say it works.

Now bear in mind I'm not a doctor, if you want to try it you do it at your own risk, don't come back to me if you stick 3 fingers together. There is special glue available for cuts on Amazon if you want to have a go. But the ordinary hardware shop superglue works just as well.

The picture is better than 1000 words.
Wasn't it used in Nam'' by the americans to close wounds from dirt/infection in the field

    Speaking of war wounds.
Did this to myself this morning.
Blood everywhere but stuck it under the cold tap and washed it and then in the gob and it clotted.
Wouldn't advise anyone to be sticking body parts in their gob either to stop bleeding.

Don't be getting anymore injures Blue because I think I might be copying you.

I've had my head glued twice. That probably explains a lot. :pac:

My father has been doing this for years ever since he saw some documentary, and no mishaps to report to date. He has a few very small dots of scar from the superglue but otherwise it's worked perfectly

    Is that right?

Googled it and it suggested otherwise... ?

I was just thinking today it should be called 'finger glue' as that's all I've ever seen it good for. Savage stuff for that, but useless for gluing just about everything else.

Have been using it for years to seal the cracks that develop on the ends of my fingers, it's the only job.

    Hasn't killed me yet!

I think I came across it used to conceal fingerprints too.
So if you're off to commit robbery it's your only man :-)

I remember one of the first uses after it started being sold was a robbery where the staffs hands were glued to the counter while the robber cleaned out the shop at his ease.
