Just around 10 minutes ago seen unusual aircraft lights passing over the clear sky here in Galway, way high up at the same altitude you would see a passenger airline crossing on some international flight, going from west to east .What was different about it was a vivid flashing red light, along with the normal white one and going at high velocity.Too high up to be heard.
Cant help thinking its something military, can anyone offer explanation?

The only thing of note is a Fed-Ex transport plane heading West, but that's way up by Donegal. There doesn't appear to be any civilian traffic heading West, it may well have been military:

Possibly International Space Station ? It did 2 passes over Ireland tonight - first at approx 8.58 West to East South East, second was around 22.25 direction West to West South West ?

You wouldn't be able to see the safety lights on the ISS without a telescope. :)

It was, in fact, Boris Yeltsin.
