Boosting or relaying WiFi signal - can I use iPhone?

My modem router is in my upstairs office where it is connected to my office computers directly by cable.

Downstairs, I connect to the router with my iPhone.

Downstairs also, I use a wifi radio. This suffers from occasional dropouts.

Since my iPhone is downstairs and near the wifi radio, could it be used to boost/relay the wifi signal from upstairs?

    Thanks.

    D.

Ps. I know that the simplest solution is probably to buy a dedicated router and connect it to the modem upstairs. But, am just curious about what my iPhone 6S might be able to do.
