Class of applicant for SUSI grant???

I'm hoping that someone might have been in a similar situation and can help. I am unsure as to which class of applicant I should put down on my form.

After I finished my leaving cert, I did three years in a science related degree. I realised that although I enjoyed the course that I could not see myself working in the area, so I decided to not complete the fourth year. I was awarded with a level 7 ordinary degree for having completed those years. I had received grant funding for all three years.

After working for two years, I managed to save up enough that I could afford to start again in college, this time in a Design degree. I knew that I wouldn't get the grant for the first three years, but for the fourth year, I was told to apply as it would count as progression (level 8 degree upon completion).

I was 22 when I re-entered college, back in 2014, about to turn 23 in September 2014. I was living with my parents beforehand, and at weekends/for the summer break.

I am now 25, turning 26 in September and am completing the third year in the Design course. I have been supporting myself through part-time jobs and loans from family members, and have been living away from home completely for the past two years.

From what I read on the SUSI site though, the most relevant factor seems to be that I started this course when I was 22... And any documentation seems to need to be from 2013?(the year before I reentered)??? Does this mean that I will be classed as dependent? Or mature dependant? Or independent?

You are or will be classed as a mature dependent.

BTW - going into first year of a level 8 after being awarded a level 7 may still be classed as progression.
You may have been eligible for funding entering a year 1 of a level 8 course if you could not attain a level 7 from the course after 3 years.
