Small UK pension ?

Folks, I hit 65 this month and will apply for the Irish contributory pension next year. I worked for just four years in the UK as a professional. Is there any way I can get any benefits from ( my admittedly small ) contributions. The British pension body have said I need 10 years contributions unless I want to make extra voluntary contributions. Anybody able to advise.?

As far as I am aware you need 10 years work to get a FULL pension in UK, but you will still get some pension for the four years you worked there.

If you write to them, they will tell you exactly how much you will get.

Thanks, you mean write to to Irish authorities in Sligo.? That seems to be the the position if you are living in Ireland - any claim must go through them ?

No. Write to the UK pensions authority about any UK pension payable.

Recipio use the form I linked too. If you ring Sligo, that's the form they'll send you.
    Sligo will process your application
