Question regarding non EEA famly reunification

Hi guys, could use a little advice here.

I am an Irish national and my wife who is Brazilian has been living in Ireland with me for four years on a stamp 4 visa. However we accidentally allowed it to expire last year so we have to go through the family reunification process.

There is a financial requirement that I, as her sponsor must meet. Policy document 17.2 states..

"An Irish citizen, in order to sponsor an immediate family member, must

    not have been totally
    or predominantly
reliant on benefits from the Irish
State for a continuous period in excess of 2 years immediately
    prior to
the application and must over the three year period prior to application
have earned a cumulative gross income over and above any State
    benefits of
    not less than €
    40k"

Unfortunately I don't meet this criteria as I had only been employed for a few months before we made the application.

Does anybody know exactly how this might affect our application ?

    Any info would be helpful.

    Cheers.
    An
