Citroen C3 - fuel injectors?

    An Engine Management light has switched on for months.

    I finally received an OBD 2 code reader from Ali Express after months of waiting.


    The code says ''Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 4 ''


    Any thoughts about this ?

    The light sometimes goes off for a few hours but these days its becoming a rarer and rarer event. Could it be as simple as cleaning an injector ?

    Any tips how to identify which injector it refers to ? Could it be referring to more than an injector ?

    Should I get a scan from someone with a more professional machine ?

    To identify which one is faulty it's best to have them all tested on a test bench. There may be one or more faulty and a test will show that up.

    Another option is to swap injectors from cylinder to cylinder to see if the problem follows the injector.

    Do you know what make the injectors are? Bosch or Siemens?

    Remember French cars usually number the cylinders in the opposite direction

    ie number 4 will be furthest from the gearbox end.

    Its still under investigation as it drives fine and it just passed the NCT. I have a Citroen C3 Haynes manual checked out from the library at home. I have tackled fairly messy jobs as the need arose and for the first time using a manual.
    Are injectors difficult to take out and inspect ? It cant be much messier than changing the CV joint on my old Micra ?
