How to find out?

There is a guy I really like. We are both coming to middle age. He has not from what I gather had a girlfriend in over 10 years.

He pays me a lot of attention, helps me a lot etc. We live very close by so can' t avoid each other very easily. I think he knows I like him. I am absolutely dying inside for him to ask me out on a date or have some closure so I can move on. Recently I decided to lay low & avoid him but after a week he made sure he 'accidently' bumped into me. He does this a lot. He gives me round about compliments but not directly.

So guys how do I find out for sure without ruining the friendship or making things awkward? I have tried to flirt etc but not sure I am very good at it. I did get braver recently & asked him if he was afraid & he did not deny it.

Help needed particularly from men's perspective.

Ask him out then. If he says no and it's awkward, the pair of you will probably make sure you'll avoid bumping into each other in future, and at least you know. You only regret the things you don't do...

What did you ask him what he is afraid of? Having a girlfriend? Being in a relationship? Asking you out?

I agree with the other poster, ask him out if you want to find out.

You're in your "middle age". Life's too short for this adolescent nonsense. You're both single. Ask him out.

I don't know why women never ask men out. I have been on dating sites quite a bit and generally do ok with getting chatting and some chat is quite good back and forth both of us seeming to be interested just as much as the other. Never once did a lady ask me to meet and go out somewhere. Always had to be me. 100% of the time. The closest was one telling me she was losing interest because I wasn't asking her out, she got quite pissed off about it in fact.

Short answer, ask the man out it would be as quick and easy as doing a post on boards. You may find that's the only way to get closure.

If he is behaving as you think he is, making excuses to bump into you etc. I think there is a great chance he will say yes.

Yes just ask him. Lots of men are used to being rejected in cruel and unusual ways especially by women who appear to be interested in them. Most guys never get asked out.

He'll be so surprised you asked him there's no way he'll be rude to you and he'll be flattered. You have nothing to lose.

Yep maybe say something like, hey I like you in more than a friend type way, would you like to do something? I'm open to friendship too by the way.
If he's not dated in long time and is shy maybe do something other than dinner where it's harder to relax, suggest something like a farmers market or something, you're walking around, it's easier to talk, there is plenty to look at and talk about there.
And good luck, even if he isn't interested you'll be happy you were brave and went for it!

Jesus I hope I'm the guy your talking about! :)

Id love it if some girl would ask me out for a change, doesn't happen often!
If I were you id bite the bullet and ask him, does sound like he likes you from what you said.

Sounds like both of you have become so familiar with each other its become a bit of a barrier and making it a bit more awkward for you to ask each other out. Nothing wrong with a woman asking a man out, would make life much more easier for us guys!

    Good luck!

Buy a Group on meal voucher
Tell him you got it as a present and ask if he would like to join you
Get dolled up and liquored up , let nature take its course
