    Hi,

Just wondering about getting a gift for someone who loves horse racing

Is it possible to get a tour of grounds of any well know trainers

    Or

    any other ideas please

I will be giving the person the gift in May!

    Thanks again

Is there a racecourse local? Or does the person attend a specific racecourse regularly?

Racecourse membership might be an option.

If you're living anywhere near The Curragh, the Guineas meeting takes place at the end of May. Tickets, lunch, bets, drinks. You can't go too far wrong.

    Depending on your budget THIS.

Now, if you've got a bigger budget..... flights to London, ticket for Epsom Derby. Anything like that is going to be appreciated by a racing enthusiast.

    (Unless they're jumping fans only!!)

Depends how into racing they are, find an obscure book and buy it for them if they're a big follower

Ring one of them trainers up and ask them. They might be kind enough to oblige
If she/he loves racing, then that one be one day out they will never forget

Again, it depends on your budget OP. The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund sell calendars and signed photos which are unusual and also give something back to the sport.

..or if they are into horses as well as the racing itself then a day at the national stud / there is an annual 'stallion trail ' where the main TB studs have open days, but I think that it's only on in January.

A painting of a favourite horse or track scene perhaps. can be pricey though mind you.

    That is a tricky question.
It is so specialised that you could spend money and disappoint.
You don't even say if the person likes jump racing or flat racing, and those two sports can be like chalk and cheese to people.
Do you know anyone who knows their preferences? Ask them if possible.
You could visit the Irish National Stud in Kildare town.
