employee query - is my employer acting legally?

Hi everybody, I work as a waitress (full time). My employer doesn't pay me for the actual hours I've worked. I only get paid until the kitchen is opened. After the kitchen closes, I still have to work and be at work (for free) until my customers have paid their bill. I don't get any extras for working on Sunday either. Does my employer have the right to do this? Is it legal?
    Thank you

It depends on your effective hourly rate. So long as this is above the minimum wage, its legal.

Similar case: Ryanair cabin staff reportedly only get paid while the plane is in the air.
