CVRT emissions on petrol engine

My CVRT tester says he can't rev my engine for the emissions test as it has a knock. My mechanic and I can't hear a knock so I assume he's just being careful. It's a two litre pinto in a Transit.

Anyone got any advice or experience of CVRT . I wouldn't think they'd need to rev it much but the regulations are a bit of a mystery to me.
