could be worse. They could have copied the plastic interior or the boring design.

Good thing VWs don't use plastic and everything is carved from the penis bone of a whale then isn't it.

Wow, they used the same song as another car ad from 19 years ago.

What the avensis looks like now will shock you.

One weird trick to turn your interior plastic soft-touch.

    Etc

The embarrassment, i'd imagine the value of the company will plummet. I see golfs going for 400/500 euro this time next year. As a result the German economy will collapse, with no mother hen to protect Europe Russia will move in and take over. St patricks day will be replaced by Comrade Patricks day and FF and FG will be banished to Siberia. Internet usage will be monitored very closely and if you quote a pic on boards your family will never see you again.

Thanks VW for ruining it all!

It's all about the type of plastics. Toyota just do it all wrong. Even if they use a soft touch material in places, they don't know how to make it into a quality looking and feeling product.

Generally speaking vw interior plastics don't stand up to wear and tear too well as they get on in years though so it's a bit of a catch 22.

Grand when new but after 10 years things like not being able to make out the radio buttons and leather steering wheels that look like rats have been at them is a bit off putting. Also the base spec plastic/rubber vw steering wheel from the likes of the mk6 golf truly is woeful.

agree.bought a 2013 trendline in 2015 with that steering wheel.asked if the wheel could be replaced with the leather one-plain,without the radio controls-salesman checked and said would be 470 fitted.right i said ill take it as is.same day sourced perfect leather wheel off 6 mth old damaged rear golf in breaker for 75 eu and got it put on for 25 eu on same day i collected car.plastic steering wheels let down otherwise good interior in the base spec cars although a toyota salesman told me few years ago that his rural middle aged customers just wanted poverty spec -wind up windows all round,no alloys or cd players etc.vw doing a ploy now where their lowest pcp rate is actually on the highline cars so things changing possibly.

Car breaks down, tow truck called, brought to scrapyard.
Owner gets €50 for it and only because the scrappie wanted to make a gesture.

How could Toyota have copied the plastic and boring interior of the Golf when the Avensis was made almost 20 years ago ????
