Baby rat?

Found this dead outside my back door. It is a baby rat isn't it?
Is it likely that it was dropped there by a bird or a cat?

We had a big one under our shed a few months ago.
Any advice on how to deal with an unknown number of them?

It's not a rat, but an adult pigmy shrew.

It's a shrew. Cat will deal with it.

If you have a cat I mean?

    Really!
Never consider that. He was about 2.5 inches long.

Excellent news for me. Unfortunately, not for him.

    RIP
