double versus triple glazed on sliding sash

    Hello all

I am looking for some advice and feedback on double vs triple glazing in a traditional sliding sash window. The style and age of the house dictate that it is going to be traditional wooded sash windows so that is not really up for debate (although my pocket would beg to differ)

Several providers will only do double glazed in sliding sash claiming that triple is not possible.

One provider will do triple glazed and specifically mentioned that they will adjust the weights accordingly so that the windows move smoothly.

The whole window u-value for double glazed is 1.5
The whole window u-value for triple glazed is 1.26

My main worry is that the frame size doesn't change between double and triple so the triple glazed is not quite as thick as it would normally be.

Price difference is about 10% so is not a huge consideration.

My question is do you think a 0.2 u-value difference on the window will have any impact internally. Either in terms of comfort or energy efficiency.

all opinions (positive or negative ) much appreciated.
