Fertiliser Advice - LIPP

    Looking for some advice.
Normally the Slurry is put on the Grazing in early March, with 1/2 Bag Urea in late March & graze from now on.
Due to Ground conditions, the Slurry is not out, and I'm now thinking of holding it until the back-end, & apply bag instead.
    Intend to Lime @ 2T/Ac in July/August - Soil Test (Sept 16) - PH 4.9, P 1, K 4.
Thinking 0.5 Bag 18.6.12 now, 0.5 Bag Can at end April, 0.5 Bag 18.6.12 July.
    Anyone any recommendations?

If its for grazing, why wail til July / Aug with the lime? Why not put it our sooner...

You will get better 'bang for your buck' on fertilizer spend, the sooner lime goes out...

I got some soil samples back this morning, and have pretty much the same soil results. Lime going out in next few weeks (hopefully) I also bought some 0-16-0, and that'll go out over the next while...
I should be ok for grass, so can do without the N, so I felt it was better to spend the money on the index I'm lacking...

How restricted are ye in what ye can do? A bag or a half bag of anything won't do much good to bring low indexes up even with minimal cutting?

Maximum chemical nitrogen usage is 40 kg N per ha per annum.

So the amount of bag fertiliser you can put out is low...

I assume you can put out as much slurry as you want?

No mention of P? I'd that's the case he could spread some 0's to lift the indexes, whether the return would be there is another question I guess

Low input permanent pasture. It's a GLAS measure.

There's a field I was thinking of reseeding around then & also funds are tight at the moment as spent lots on glas.
Was thinking on 0-16-0 too to help the P & go full bag of Can
Would that be better than the 2 1/2 bags

Would it take muck 0-16-0 to get up a index?

Spread lime here in February. Did a few fields but missed out on one small field. About 10 days ago put out some 18 6 12 on all the fields. The fields that were limed are lovely and healthy green looking. The one that wasn't limed is still sick looking and the grass has hardly moved, even though got the same amount of fert on the same day.

Should you not be following the farm nutrient plan for this. Sure what was the point in paying 460 for a plan plus the cost of the soil samples if you are not going to follow it.
