Youthreach Reporting a Person for Harassment

There's this person in my Youthreach centre who raped me last year (and nothing was done about it, even after I went to the guards).

Now he's creeping on other girls in the centre, and when we told the coordinator, he said the whole "boys will be boys" and to keep out of the way and it'll pass. The person said that he wants to say sorry (which he hasn't done, and no one would accept it anyway) and that he's saying those creepy things because of his aspergers (which is an awful excuse).

The coordinator won't do anything, and we're thinking of going to a higher up place in the ETB to get it sorted (best outcome is to get him kicked out). He's been given four warnings by the coordinator throughout the year, including ones for finding porn on his laptop, harassing the girls, and the "alleged" rape. His mother harasses me also, but because it's out of school obviously they can't do anything about it.

I need advice on where to go about this. I don't want to go to the police yet as they weren't any help last time, but I want to maybe contact the LCETB and start an investigation.

Can someone help me with this? Any advice? The person in question is 18 by the way, and what I think he's doing is illegal at this point.

You need to go to the police.

I was going to if the ETB wouldn't do anything about it, but I was wondering if there was a way to go before them. They're really bad in my area and after my incident with the person, the guards told me to not make a statement because it would take too long to get him arrested and it would make me upset. I'm just kind of reluctant to go straight back to them at this point. :/

The ETB can do nothing about a criminal matter.

Go back to the guards and ask to speak to whoever is in charge.

I will, thank you. If that's the only way.

4 warnings and not given the boot by the Co-ordinator?

I got 1 warning and one suspension when I was in Youthreach.

3rd time I got the boot.

If the person is 18 they are an adult. Go back to The Gardai as advised.

What will I say to the guards though? I don't want to mess this up, and I need to explain what we're doing to the other girls who are involved (who also want him out). They find it so uncomfortable to be anywhere near him. :/

Are any of the girls involved under 18?

If they are they you can Contact TUSLA under the children first guidelines. In my experience when TUSLA come knocking because children are being put at risk management become surprisingly pro active

All of the girls are under 18, including me. I think I'll contact them next week and see what happens. Thank you!
I've had experience with them before also, they were completely on my side, and managed to get the guy suspended for a month (before his mother got pissed off and said that I should be thrown out for speaking up, and ended up getting him back in the programme -_-)
