I just came across this thread: http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2055835010/

I happened to think about it a few weeks ago too. Does anyone else remember the young Irish guy who had scripts accepted for Star Trek? I remember reading a newspaper article about him years ago (pre internet) but I can't find anything online.

My stalking skills haven't been able to find this guy's nationality but he's pretty low-key and has a very Irish sounding name.

lots of Americans call themselves Irish, (all of Boston basically) even if they've more Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, English ancestry in their genetic makeup than anything else

    Could've been something like that?

No, he was a young fella from Ireland, I remember an article in an Irish paper at the time, with a photo and everything.

Yeah I remember that too. It's really annoying me now that I'm trying to remember his name :)

Folks - don't forget English papers claim Irish sports people as being British on occasion, so you may want to be too reliant on such "facts".

Sure only the other day the Tipperary Star claimed the Collison brothers (of Limerick) as being from Nenagh for Christ's sake!!!

Ah no, it was a full interview with the guy and it said which county he was from etc. I'll check the Tipp Star archives just in case ;-)
