What's wrong with RTE 1 Radio in Limerick?

Once again RTE Radio 1 has mysteriously disappeared from the airwaves in Limerick City on the 89.4 transmitter. It's also gone down on 88.00 or whatever frequency they use. Just as Sean O'Rourke is beginning :-(

Also, Newstalk has broken down, so maybe a general fault on Woodcock hill? This is happening now with monotonous regularity. Terribly unreliable service from the so-called National broadcaster.

I think it's planned work on the Woodcock Hill mast. Normally a recorded announcement comes on to say that "essential maintenance" is taking place and that there'll be disruption.

I saw your other post about the dismissive and rude attitude on the main RTE information phone line.
It wouldn't kill them to have a daily/weekly update available from the transmission people with the frequencies/sites being worked on which could then be relayed, politely, to the public as they call.
Nah, joined up thinking. It'll never catch on over at Radio Telifis Stalin

RTE and Spin were off air all day. 88.8 from Maghera was still working though

Were the RTE DAB Stations such as Gold, Pulse, 2XM etc. Off air as well ?

Yes, no DAB transmissions from Woodcock Hill either. Only reception of RTE stations was Mullaghanish/Maghera
