Carol Moran finished on weekend Rising Time. Maybe being replaced by Lillian.

Shay Byrne off from weekday Rising Time this week. Being covered by the dude from Gold who does the pre Shay slot from 3-5.30am(Michael Cahill possibly?)

Have we new RTE Overlords?

Where did you hear about Carol Moran finishing? She is excellent.

I like Lilian and like her her on the the late date but Carol would be a loss if finishing.

I mentioned it in some other thread
When she was finishing on Sunday she said her year was up (must be a contract thing) and thanked all the listeners. She said Lillian will be in the weekend slot next week.

I listened earlier and heard where she said that. I was listening Sunday morning but, as I was half asleep must have missed that.

She was very good, I can't understand why they are doing so much chopping and changing.

Carol has been doing the continuity bit playing the repeats between 2-3am the last few nights. Strange change in direction for her.
Lillian confirmed she will be doing Rising Time "for a while".

Lilian should really make Rising Time very listenable. Easily best of the 'easy listening' presenters on RTE imho.

Shay was back on Wednesday morning though he bit of trouble breaking away from RTE Gold and he had to restart his show

This morning Michael Cahill was covering Rising Time but he said Shay would be back tomorrow

Last week had a lot of subs on Radio 1. I think that Sean O' Rourke was off. Brendan O' Connor filled in for Marion F on Saturday & Sunday. John Murray was presenting Drivetime.

What a waste of an excellent presenter.

Though lets hope they are basically keeping her onside for a future slot.

Carol had been doing the 2 - 3am best of Radio 1 anyway the odd night while she was also on the weekend breakfast. So she has been doing that for the past year or so.

Must say the guy who was filling in for Sean O'Rourke 2 weeks ago, his voice is just un-listenable.. Think he is with R Na G and also does the Late Debate...Cormac O'Hara.

Aidan Leonard was doing the Michael Cahill RTE Gold/Radio 1 show this morning 4 to 5:30.

Last week and this week is an extended break for a lot of people and not just teachers - Chris Evans and Ken Bruce on BBC R2 have both taken the fortnight off.

Where has Carol Moran ended up? Herself and Cathal Murray were excellent at the weekend.

Not really digging Lillian to be honest, very samey whereas the others played a great mix.

carol currently presents the replay of radio 1 a few nights during the week. 2 to 3 am
