Selby v Trump in the final.
Judd has been the form guy over the past month or so and Selby's game is tailor made for the longer matches at the crucible.
Kyren Wilson is worth an e/w punt at 40/1.
The 2nd round will have some great matches if the seeds all make it through.
    Ding v Wenbo
    Murphy v O'Sullivan
    Robertson v Fu
    Bingham v Wilson
    Allen v Higgins
Out of the qualifiers 2 matches stand out to me off hand
Andy Hicks 13/8 to beat Mike Dunn and Zhao Xintong 11/4 to beat Mark Williams.

I suppose Doherty will not be in great shape for the qualifiers after the recent passing of his mother.
Jimmy White has a tough draw.
I don't think it's fair that players ranked 17-32 have have to play all three rounds of the qualifiers.

    Ricky Walden out already.
    Josh Boileau pipped 10-9.

Jimmy also gone in round 1

It's a pity about Jimmy White but i suppose a 37 year career as a pro is a fantastic achievement.Although i'll bet his mate Barry Hearn will give him a wild card next season.
Reanne Evans also had a superb win over Robin Hull,She plays Lee Walker from Wales in the next round

Fergal and Kens games in action, Doherty 3-1 up and O'Brien 4-5 down.

Vague memory of being able to see Doherty v Rhenna Evans live on the WPBSA site a few years ago, anyone know if the same thing is available now?

Ken and Fergal safely through. Looked a little dicey for Mark Williams but he is through also.

Btw Apres Match does Goffs 1990 this Monday evening. Rte 2 9.30. Alex going up against Dennis in more ways than one. Should be a bit of a laugh.

Looks like curtains for Ken. 4-0 down to Ben Woollaston.
I think like Jimmy, he also need to qualify for the Crucible to keep his place on the tour.

    7-2 now, Ken in trouble

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,459 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

So Ken gone 10-4. Fergal still in the hunt at 6-6

    Final round of qualifiers:

    Mark Williams v Stuart Carrington
    Tom Ford v Hossein Vafaei
    Lee Walker v Noppon Saengkham
    Li Hang v Stephen Maguire
    Mark King v Xiao Guodong
    Ben Woollaston v Zhou Yuelong
    Jamie Jones v Graeme Dott
    Fergal O'Brien v David Gilbert
    Akani Songsermsawad v David Grace
    Luca Brecel v Dominic Dale
    Gary Wilson v Michael White
    Rory McLeod v Hammad Miah
    Michael Holt v Peter Ebdon
    Rod Lawler v Jimmy Robertson
    Yan Bingtao v Alexander Ursenbacher
    Yu Delu v Martin Gould

I don't think the 2017 champion is among them.

I doubt there is a quater finalist there. Seems to fit the picture that once you go past top 16 maybe 20 the quality (and the money) falls away dramatically.

It's rare enough anyway for a qualifier to make the breakthrough to the semis.

Bookies seem to think it's between Trump, O'Sullivan and Selby. Was thinking of lumping on all three for a low returns (but safeish?) investment...

However, this guy says there's question marks over all 3.

Might just have a big bet on Trump to reach the final and a couple of longshot sides...

    9-9 Obrien v Gilbert.
One for the purest lets say.

Now the longest frame in history of snooker.

Yeah fair play to him. I was following the scores on the world snooker website which updates every 30 seconds. I kept checking every 2 minutes. But after about 90 minutes i was thinking to myself 'wtf i going on here?'. Anyway I'm delighted for him.

I was watching the end of the match on facebook. It's a great achievement for him. He's lost in the final qualifying round on many occasions.
So two legends got through, O'Brien & Ebdon. It's a pity Williams didn't make it and surprising seeing as he was in China open final only last week.

Gary Wilson knocked in 8 centuries in the qualifiers, including a 147. Could be a tough opening match for Ronnie.

Ronnie 1/16 to beat Wilson with PP.

My tickets are for two sessions of Ronnies second round game if he makes it. Be sick if he loses in the frost round.

I know nothing about Wilson, and in fairness he didn't blow his opponents away in the qualifiers, I was just impressed at the number of centuries.

All that effort from Fergal, just to meet the world number 1 in the first round.

I'd be putting a few Bob on Fergie.

Where did you get the schedule?

Absolutely brilliant performance from Fergal, considering his second round match didnt finish until after 2 on Tuesday night. Hope he gets some much needed rest between now and Saturday. Selby can sometimes be a bit off early stages of big tournaments, but on the flipside he's too long in the tooth to be taking Fergal lightly. Hopefully won't be all one way traffic anyway.

My tournament bets 'Sensible' followed by, erm, 'speculative':

    To win outright: O'Sullivan, Wilson

    To reach final: Bingham, Gould

Finalists: Selby & Trump, Higgins & Fu

I actually stuck a few euro on Fu to win it for the craic. It has been such a year of golden oldies that it's not out of the question that we'll have a surprising winner.

Mm 3 still alive going into the qfs, not bad. TBH though I can't see Wilson going all the way or Fu getting to the final so my hopes are really resting on the Rocket. Even if he's at the top of his game I reckon it's a toss-up between him and Selby though...
