So a bit of a cautionary one for all of you. Back tyre split on me today. The kick in the balls is that its 900 to replace it. Bought the tractor brand new 7 years ago Massey 120hp and the tyre was quite fresh. its a Goodyear. At the time I was using the power box to remove dung was just after going from concrete to gravel - a 3 inch drop and it sounded like a crack from a rifle. Couldn't believe it. Got the tyre off went to the garage and they asked me was it under inflated. TBH, hadn't checked the tyre pressure in years and in reflection it probably was a bit under inflated. Didn't think it would cause the tyre to split but its a bloody expensive lesson. As an aside, could I claim on insurance?

What brand are you replacing it with for €900? What percent wear is the other tyre at. As in will there be one tyre new whereas the other tyre only at 30%? Would a second hand tyre be an option? You could stick an ad up in donedeal looking for a goodyear tyre with your size on it?

€900 for a tractor tyre is crazy money. I'm sure others have spent that, but doesn't mean that is the true value of them.
    Where are you located?
