Michelin CrossClimate VS Vredestein Quatrac 5

Has anyone any experience with either of these in Ireland?

I did a good bit of research before for All Seasons for an Astra and decided on Vredestein Quatrac 3 at the time, these have now been replaced by the Quatrac 5 but speaking to a tyre supplier, they asked had I heard of the Michelin Cross Climate, he said they are probably the best all season and on a quick Google, it seems they are rated very well alright.

    http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2016-AutoBild-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm

This suggests they are better than the Quatrac's and are ideal for the Irish climate, they are about €15 dearer. There's CrossClimate+ too, but I'm not sure if these are better or worse, they are cheaper on one site I checked though?

Any feedback and suggestions of the best place to get them fitted in Dublin would be great :)

I've been looking into these too, probably don't need a set for a few months so hope to get the +, the crossclimate plus is the new version of the crossclimate, they have changed the compound to make them last longer, but the trade off is they are slight worse in wet breaking test, the + were only released on February this year so I guessing most garages will still have the non-plus version in stock.

Got cross climates on my car with no complaints.

    Thanks for the replies :)

It's a little strange that the + are cheaper if they are meant to be better (other than wet stopping distance).

    This is from Pneus:

I've had a price for the NON PLUS tyre fitted for €105 and if you get 4, you get a €35 fuel card, this is at Discount Tyres in D15.

Also, does the plus not have the M+S mark? It doesn't list it there?

Michelin are doing a gift card, I think it's €30 for 4 tyres, are you near this guy, I know nothing about him but his prices are keen

Are you going for the plus versions? I have the non plus versions on my civic and like them

Wouldn't be worth the trip that far. Getting online and getting a local fitter is of course an option too.

So far I think discount tyres in D15 are the best for the non plus at €105 each plus €30/35? back as a fuel card if you get 4.

I'm not sure yet. It's a little strange the plus are cheaper, also that they don't have the M+S mark, at least it doesn't look like it from the Pneus site?

Got my cross climates here... sound bunch - would go back.

As for the tyres, they do grip well in the cold/wet although I wouldn't say I've pushed them anywhere near there limits in the 10k miles I have them on.
