NCT: Windows

    Apologies if there's a megathread, i couldn't find it. :)

The motor on my driver's door window has gone bust. A mild annoyance, mainly at car parks where I've now to get out of the car to get a ticket but otherwise not something i really need.

Have the NCT in a couple of months and I'm wondering if it's something they'd fail me on. The booklet seems to be mainly concerned with whether the glass is clear enough or not.

The car is 2006 and with 300,000km on the clock and i hope to replace it towards the end of the year so if i can get away with minimal spend on it until then that's what i intend to do.

    Any pointers appreciated. :)

I am afraid the drivers door window must be operational, the rest don't matter...
Check that the driver’s window operating mechanism is functioning properly.

Any ideas what is wrong with it, could just be the switch itself and not any issue within the window movement mechanism in the door itself.

It's a fail on the drivers door.
You might get a scrap motor or else try ebay.

Not really, haven't brought it anywhere yet. It makes a noise if i forget it's broken bit the window doesn't move. :)

You could try swapping the passenger side motor with it? Although if its making noise it could be just stuck.
