Different color laminate floors

    Hi.

We are currently picking laminates floors for our house. We had initially thought of going with one color throughout, but are second guessing ourselves and considering a different flooring upstairs.

The walls in the house are all going to be either brilliant white, or a very subtle grey (we have no choice in this at present).

From lots of samples, we think that a neutral light floor gives us most options for decorating, wont age as quickly and will leave the place feeling lighter & bigger.

Upstairs however I have started thinking we could go with something darker, like a wallnut or darker oak color.

Note the stairs will be carpet, and break up the transition between the different materials.

Kitchen and bathrooms are all tiles, kitchen tiles will be very light but we are unsure of what exact color they will be ( we haven't decided)

Whats the general guidelines when it comes to flooring and multiple colors/materials?
