I'm currently in my position 4 months in Childcare, 45hours week for 19,200 pa gross. I am hoping to get a position in Medical Secretary field for 35 hours per week for over 26k starting off going up yearly. Although commute would be nearly twice as long but depending on start times between 8am maybe not as bad if that early. My son will be starting school and trying to save for rent and a mortgage and am nearing 30 so not like I have years to save! Would I be mad to go for the move.? I'm fully qualified in both! BTW no chance of raise where I currently am not matter how long there with Childcare fees also can barely save right now. Tia

Go for it, especially if it's a different field of work. All you have to say is the new job you are applying for is preferred employment and you just took the other job until this new position came along

What will the new commuting time be?

Thank you for your replies ☺ about 45mins to an hour with traffic 20-30 without. But again at the moment I'm leaving 30-40 mins before my start time. But including the hour or so commute each way id be doing depending on traffic I'm still better off by an hour each day at home..

You'd be mad not to go for the new job, from the sounds of it.
