Hi guys, Im a teacher. When i rang Revenue last week, the lady i was speaking to told me I was entitled to flat rate expenses and that mine was lower than what I should have. So she put them on the right rate for this year. Am i entitled so to claim back for the other years back that ive been on a wrong rate, and would I get this back in as cash.
    Thanks very much.

    You can backdate 4 years.

You can do this online yourself. Provided you've paid the right amount of tax each year, you will get a refund

In addition, to the flat rate expenses, you are entitled to reduce your taxable income by the amount you pay annual to the teaching council
