out of interest does anyone know anybody that have used these??

    i assume relatively new here

works out at 8euro a pop

on the suckler side a missed heat cylce (say 20days) = what loss in revenue?
20 days at a 1.2 kg/day is 24 kikos @2.25€/kg thats 54 euro. Of you make 200 uro off a 900 kilo weanling then your making 2 euro for every 9 he makes so that's a tennner you save?

Has anyone bought these for dairy heifers? Looking at them they seem like they work well and shouldn't be missing any heats

Would it be any better than patches?
Saw an ad for Moo+, would this be a better option?

They won't work on heifers I was informed. Heifers are too unreliable and too active when bulling is going in. They would pick up false heats

Personally I think the only practical thing to do with heifers is either full fixed time ai, or else 7days of intense monitoring and AI then estrumate or lob the bull out to the rest.

Email I got back when I asked them if I could use them on heifers

The short answer is that we don't know how well the current detection algorithms that have been optimised to block grazing cows will work on maiden heifers. They interact differently than cows in between heats.
Our guess is that you will see some false positives that we will need to filter out when we know what their heats look like.
We are going as fast as we can on this and will have heifer approved product ready for next season. I don't recommend using the current product on them but if you do try them out I would be really interested in your observations.

Looks like a good product but for me they are about 10X too expensive for what are nothing more than a few LEDs a battery and a switch.

They are just the same job as the scratch cards. Unless you are getting home very late from work are they worth it?

Its a pity they are disposable, if you could reuse them all the time then they would be the business, but afaik they are only single use which seems mad
