BMW E90 ABS problem

Had an intermittent ABS issue for a couple of months where ABS light/traction light would come on. A simple restart would fix the issue for another while until recently. Traction control light started flashing and cut power as soon as you get into second gear. I turned traction control off and that put on the ABS/traction lights permanently now.

I got someone to run diagnostics on it and it showed several codes relating to the rear left corner. I took the ABS sensor out to inspect it (as pictured) and the ABS ring is corroded on one half. Is the ABS sensor supposed to be making contact with the ring?
