Go to your local coop or Agri store and you should be able to get the loan of a soil sampler.
Take samples from the field by moving around it in a W shape iykwim. Empty sampler in to a clean bucket as you go. Mix it all up once finished and place about 200g I think in to a ziplock bag. The samples can be sent to a number of places. I use FBA Labs. Can't remember exactly what the cost is per sample. Check out their website too. It gives tips. Oh and make sure you haven't put out any P&K in last 6 months or it will affect your sample reading.

Just checked FBA site and it's €12.70 per sample for ph,lime requirement and P&K.

How have people found acting on the results. Big difference in the grass? Worth doing? We are waiting on our first result done by the department. But our man wouldn't be known for speed!
