    Hi,
we're hoping to buy a house in the Claregalway area in the next six months and we like the Cregmore/ Carnmore area. However we have heard that some children from Cregmore N.S haven't been accepted into Claregalway Secondary school. Anybody know why?
Carnmore is further away and is in the parish of Claregalway but Secondary schools enrolment policy says it accepts children from the catchment area starting with closest to the school. Therefore Cregmore children should have all been accepted.

The catchment area maps are on the website under admissions policies.

Edit: The reason for the cutoff is that the house may be closer to other schools - Athenry presumably if you are looking in Cregmore.

Wasn't there an issue with Claregalway secondary initially not taking students in the catchment area last year due to capacity issues, I think it was resolved in the end, perhaps this is why the kids from Cregmore were not accepted.
