    Hi guys,

I currently have the old pink licence which is valid for another few years yet. I want to get the card though (easier to use for ID when in a foreign country). Should I get a replacement for a "lost" licence or a new licence?

Replacement is €35 and a new licence is €55.

If I get the replacement will my renewable date be the same as is currently on my pink licence or will I get the full term from it?

You'll only be able to get a replacement, the expiry dates will be the same as what's on your current licence.

If you need a handy ID, why don't you get a passport card?

Can you just bring in your current paper licence and swap for the card licence? Paying the fee of course. Will they need anything else?

Does your paper licence by any chance have an old address on it ? If so you can get it updated and get the new card type (be it with the same expiry date), but for free :)
