New phone open to any network sim

Hi, I want to get a new mobile phone. I am currently in contract with three and will be out of contract in January 2018, and am intending leaving them at that point. Is it possible to get a new phone that will accept any network sim and if so where would I purchase same? Thanks in advance. Regards, Noreen
