    Hi everyone,
Thanks to some great posts here I have bought my car in the Uk and have a Vrt appointment today. However, when completing the paperwork I realised I paid no vat in the U.K. When I rang to query this they said that as the car had been adapted for mobility purposes there was no vat payable. Does anyone have any experience of how this affects Vrt? It is a 2014 Outlander. Thanks in advance.

When we brought in our car, just the sale price was written on the invoice, the VAT section was left blank.
The guy in the VRT office just worked out what the VAT was in the UK, and wrote it in. Never asked me if it was paid or not.

    So say nowt.

There may be a section on the form that asks if you paid vat. Somebody mentioned that here when I said about someone I know who bought an ex notability car from the north and didn't pay vat here or in the uk.

Thanks folks, I gave in the invoice which had €0 vat on it and said nothing, wasn't asked about it and all went well. Great to have it all sorted now.
